- Acupressure This involves the application of finger pressure
- on points where it is believed that our life force or energy
- comes to the surface of the body. These points are the same
- ones used in acupuncture.
- One acupressure technique you can use to create
- deep relaxation is to interweave your fingers and
- place them over your solar plexus, which is found
- in the center of your body just below the breast-
- bone. Then sit back and quietly relax. Experience
- the feeling that you have—a sense of calm or
- sedation. You will soon be in a very relaxed
- state.
- You might ask a friend or family member
- to sit at your feet. Have him or her put a
- hand under each calf, spreading him or her
- fingers. Have him or her sit there with their
- hands under your calves for about 15
- minutes. This too will put you in a deeply
- relaxed state.
